EXERCISE 5: Interactive Webpage - by Arvin Javier

Exercise 5: Interactive Webpage by Arvin Javier

I made this Interactive webpage by thinking of a topic that correlates to all the past projects I've done, to use them as a reference or an example videos for all the key points that has been listed below. As our professor instructed us that we must only use the things that we made, that includes the videos and pictures. So everything you see in this segment from here on out is ALL made by me. Please do enjoy and god bless..

5 Ways in Improving your Multimedia Production

1. Know your brand and what type of work you excel at.

In every leash and career, you must know what you are capable of - graphic designing, typography designing, filming, photography, or video editing. You need to understand what your skills are because, by that time, you will be able to know what type of brand you should be working for and what type of work is best suited to you.

Take a look at an individual named Arvin Javier as an example: he knows that he is good at graphic designing, conceptualizing, filming, writing, editing, and taking pictures. He tends to shoot a lot of moody dark scenes, and he tends to write drama, mystery, or horror. Because he now knows which path he will take and which career is best suited for him -may it be a director, a photographer, a graphic designer, or a published writer. As for branding, he knows his style in shooting and writing - he will most likely work on horror production teams and produce horror movies.

Below is a video, explaining how to make posters in photoshop. This is an example, because knowing how to do certain things means you know yourself and what you are capable of doing.

2. Know your workspace.

Now that you know what brand is best for you, it's time to understand your proper workspace. Such as what gears do you need? What hardware and software will you use often? What will you need to prioritize first? Because knowing these will help you improve your work and allow you to feel more work-oriented and professional.

Below is a video explaining "what are the software and hardware used in three different multimedia production, as well as their functions."

3. Build a brand or platform.

The next step after knowing what work you excel at as well as what kind of workspace you work in. It's time to build a platform to form your portfolio. Building a portfolio is extremely important, especially for artists. It lets them show their professionalism towards people who would like to hire them. As well as showing them their skills and what they are capable of.

Below is a website that Arvin Javier made to let people know what kind of work they did and what topics they covered.

4. Do more, not less.

The rule in designing and doing actual work is to do the actual work. You need to stop making excuses about gears not being good enough or you lacking the time for it. Because the more you do that, the more you'll get used to the feeling of not doing tasks just because some steps are hard to get by. Like for photography, you don't need a DSLR to take good pictures, you just need a proper phone, which everyone has nowadays. Or like in designing, you don't need to start on photoshop or on PC to do actual designing and be used to the idea of designing, you just need a properly functioning phone.

Take Arvin Javier as an example. He only takes videos and pictures using his phone, but he was able to take high-quality studio-like pictures, as well as high production videos that can be considered a professional piece despite working on a laggy laptop.

Below are examples of Arvin Javier's works only using a laggy i7 laptop without any graphics card, and a Xiaomi Mi 10t 5g phone as his main camera.

5. Enjoy your work.

And lastly, enjoy the work you're doing. Nothing beats a good feeling of working on something you enjoy in, something you're passionate about. So be sure to enjoy the work you are doing, and enjoy the things you are aspiring to be. Because in chasing dreams, aspirations, and desires, you will always need motivation, and what better motivation is if you are passionate about it.
